Betty Baking – Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Betty was already a natural when it came to cooking.  Having worked for a family in Addis Ababa, Betty was able to see just how much she loved baking.

Her sense of budget, her hard work, her determination to work and raise her young family, gave Her Next Steps reason to study Betty’s application with interest.

After reflection, a business proposal and application. Her Next Steps agreed to the following loan amount: $2,200 for the following costs: (receipts needed)

  • Training cost $200
  • Stove/oven $750
  • Baking Material $400
  • Rental/Utilities $150
  • Electrical Installation $200
  • Set up Material $100
  • Utilities for the first 6 months $200
  • Ongoing Material for 6 months $200

Total: $2,200

 

The first Payment was of : $1,200 in December 2020 ($450 direct to Betty Baking in birr equivalent no later than December 25 or by baking school deadline, $750 paid to second party for purchase of kitchen equipment) 

The following were monthly payments of $200 until May 2021

The breakdown of the micro-loan reimbursement will be as follows:
